Report: RDIF, Saudi Aramco apply to antitrust over Novomet stake

MOSCOW, Oct 2 (PRIME) -- The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Saudi Aramco have filed an application to the Federal Antimonopoly Service for a stake in oilfield service company Novomet, CEO of the RDIF Kirill Dmitriev said in an interview with Rossiya 24 television channel released on Wednesday.

“Together Saudi Aramco, it is the world’s biggest oil company, and the RDIF have applied for a large stake in Novomet to the Federal Antimonopoly Service so that the company could operate on Saudi Arabia’s market,” he said.

The deal may be closed within two or three weeks, he also said.

“All the conditions have been fully agreed. It will be one of over 10 investment deals that are to be announced during the upcoming visit of President (Vladimir) Putin to Saudi Arabia.”
